3/31/26
3rd Grade NYS Exam – 2026
ELA Exam: April 14–15, 2026
Math Exam: May 6–7, 2026
Friendly Tips for Success:
Read each question carefully and take your time.
Check your work and use scrap paper to organize your thoughts.
Take short deep breaths if you feel nervous — stay calm and focused.
Remember: IXL is great extra practice in addition to the test prep we are doing in class.
Independent reading also helps improve your ELA skills — the more you read, the stronger your comprehension will be.
Be sure you know all your math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) — these make solving problems faster and easier.
Review all key topics: place value, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, word problems, measurement, time, and money.
Solve a few practice problems every day to stay confident and prepared.
Friendly reminder to please practice tying shoes at home. At this age, it is an expected skill for students to begin doing independently. Students should know how to tie their shoes by the time we return from spring break. Your support and practice at home will help build confidence and responsibility. Thank you!
Review your ELA packet or read a chapter book you enjoy. Remember, stamina and working at a nice, slow pace are key to understanding the stories and questions.
